Belt conveyor is a mechanical device driven by friction to transport materials continuously. It mainly consists of a frame, conveyor belt, idler roller, drum, tensioning device, transmission device, etc. It can transport materials on a certain conveyor line, forming a material conveying process from the initial feeding point to the final unloading point. It can transport both fragmented materials and individual items. In addition to pure material transportation, it can also be coordinated with the requirements of the production processes in various industrial enterprises to form a rhythmic flow operation transportation line.
Belt conveyors are the most ideal and efficient continuous transportation equipment in coal mines. Compared with other transportation equipment (such as locomotives), they have the advantages of long conveying distance, large transport volume, continuous conveying, and reliable operation. They are also easy to automate and centralize control, especially for high-yield and high-efficiency mines. Belt conveyors have become key equipment for coal mining electromechanical integration technology and equipment.
Belt conveyors are widely used in metallurgy, coal, transportation, hydropower, chemical industry and other sectors because of their advantages such as large conveying capacity, simple structure, convenient maintenance, low cost and strong versatility.
Belt conveyors are also used in building materials, power, light industry, grain, ports, ships and other sectors.
According to the requirements of the process flow, belt conveyors can flexibly receive materials from one or more points, and can also unload materials to multiple points or sections. When feeding materials onto the conveyor belt at several points at the same time (such as the conveyor under the coal bunker in a coal preparation plant) or feeding materials to the conveyor belt through a uniform feeding device at any point along the length direction of the belt conveyor, the belt conveyor becomes the main conveyor line.
A belt conveyor can take material from the roadway under the coal pile in a coal yard. When necessary, it can also mix different materials from various piles. The material can be simply discharged from the head of the conveyor, or it can be discharged at any point along the length of the conveyor belt through a plow discharger or a mobile discharging cart.
